Clothing Care Tips: Part 2

Here is something I don’t usually talk about: I don’t particularly like shopping, and I am incredibly particular when it comes to the clothes that I buy. I find shopping for clothing really challenging; I never know what size is going to fit me right since it varies by brand, figuring out the quality of a garment can be difficult, and I hate wasting money - so I need to be sure I absolutely LOVE an item if I’m going to purchase it. The combination of all these things makes it so I purchase very few things, and usually walk out of the store empty handed.

Because of that, I’ve learned that the better care I take of the clothes I actually own, the better they look and the longer they last me, making it so that I have to shop very little!

I compiled all the information I’ve learned over the years to share with you guys. It was so much, that I had to divide it into two different videos. If you missed Part 1, you can check it out by clicking here.

In this video, I wanted to give you some tips that go beyond the basics of clothing care. We all have a basic idea of how to wash and dry our clothes (for most of them it is written right on the label), but we are rarely taught the things that can bring our clothes back to life or prevent them from looking rough in the first place.

In this video, I cover:

  • How to properly store your clothes, both everyday and out-of-season clothing.

  • How to remove lint & pet hair.

  • How to remove pilling (or those little balls of fluff on the surface of your garments) and how to prevent it from happening in the first place.

  • The best way to prevent and deal with infestations, moths & bed bugs in particular.

  • A great tip to follow when you’ve just thrifted an item.

I also share a great tip for storing sweaters on hangers, if you must!

I hope you find these two videos helpful, and that you learned something new from them. Please let me know what kind of videos you would like to see next, and let me know if you have any questions. As always, thanks for watching!
